..this live forever "nonsense" is the only thing I am still seething over from the old JW days...
I really believed the &%$#@*! that I was taught!
Now, at 47, I have graciously surrendered the trappings of youth ( as long as the hydraulics work I do not mind getting older!) and am looking forward to a distuinguished and graceful middle and old age with my better half ( but she is really good looking)

yes, and it has nothing to do with increasing hours spent in the preaching work!
every year we grow more and more dependent on the internet.

..there is only one thing that will keep me awake at nite....and it IS NOT preparing for the Watchtower study!
i remember at the age of 14, i was studying with a very well respected elder in the congregation.
me, him, and my dad studied together.
every once in a while during the study, he would turn to me and ask me "have you dedicated your life to jehovah?".
yes. Guilty as charged.
When I was baptized at age 13 ( too young to know what I was doing, much less dedicating my lfe to a monastic lifestyle) I really believed in what I was taught. I believed that I was part of the generation that would never experience death. I was a full time pioneer and Ministerial Servant at age 17 ( also too young to comprehend was I was sacrificing).
Fortunately for me I came to my senses at age 21 ( and ran like hell), and made up for lost time.
clearly, anyone reading this watchtower society response to a "frequently asked question" on their jw-media site would conclude that jehovah's witnesses fully accept that god will spare non-jws through armageddon and grant them salvation.
all that one has to do is take a "stand for truth and righteousness" before god's time of judgment.
therefore, as former-jws, hence also non-jws, we have absolutely taken a stand for "truth and righteousness" such as exposing the criminal behavour of the watchtower leadership and their policies, such as their program that acts to protect jw child molesters.
This brings to mind an old saying , author unkown:
"fool me once; shame on you--
fool me twice; shame on ME!"
They can say whatever they want; they will never again get my vote.
